Dine Riverside in Yankeetown, FL–At The Riverside Inn at The Izaak Walton Lodge
The “old” Izaak Walton Lodge at Yankeetown, Florida was quite a place. That is, until it burned down in 1999. But that’s what happens to many almost-100-year-old pine framed buildings! The fire was devastating and local residents were horrified to lose the lodge, a landmark and gathering place. Frankly, it was just about “wore-out” and the subsequent re-build brought a newer, updated version (with fire protection) to the community.
After several owners, the new Riverside Inn has taken hold in the community. It’s owners, Nancy Little Lewis, a local realtor, and husband Capt. Ky Lewis have transformed the place into a pretty good place to eat–and to drink. The Riverside Inn serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is willing to cook your catch should you be lucky enough to fish the Levy County waters at Yankeetown or nearby Waccasassa. The menu features and extensive selection of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, soups and entrees.
The only drawback/downside to the Riverside Inn is one that Nancy and Ky freely admit. Due to some county rules regarding their liquor license and water usage, the number of patrons they could seat, and the fact that they’re on a septic tank system, they can only serve on plastic tableware. Just a slight inconvenience, so far as many happy patrons are concerned!

The best and most memorable Thanksgiving dinner our family ever had. A hole turkey served at our table, with all the trimmings. Served in a rustic lodge by a big window over looking the river. A working fireplace across the room set the mood. Wish they would do it again. We will be willing to pay twice the price for the experience.
