A Taste of Cedar Key–December 17, 2016
Cedar Key–A View From The Gulf
It takes a lot to keep the citizens of the Cedar Key community from having a good time. This year, a hurricane tried, but the folks there have rebounded and now plan the annual “A Taste of Cedar Key” for December 17.
The event will be held at the Marina and adjacent City Park from 11am to 1pm. There is a charge ($10 adult/$5 child) for a wristband that entitles the wearer to sample local restaurant specialties (Tony’s Chowder, Steamers, 83 West, Carlins, Annie’s, Blue Desert and the Island Hotel?). There WILL be local clams and some of those great farm-raised Cedar Key oysters on the menu!

Sponsored by the Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce, there will also be some free events, including a visit by “Santa Clam” in a clam boat, a lighted boat parade, and a pot luck dinner in the park at 5PM.
And while you’re there, don’t overlook an opportunity to wander Dock Street and the shops there or to rent a kayak from Kayak Cedar Key and explore the nearby waters!
