Don’t Have a Boat? Try Shoreline Fishing.
Grab your rod & reel and head outdoors for some shoreline fishing! All you need as a Florida resident is a shoreline fishing license before fishing from the shore or a pier, bridge or jetty attached to the shore. If you are a member of a group that is exempted from the license requirements or currently possess a saltwater recreational fishing license, you are all set to fish. Remember, the Florida resident shoreline license only applies to those fishing from shore, so if you arrived to a location by boat or are fishing from a vessel, you must posses a saltwater recreational fishing license, not just a shoreline license. From out of state? Nonresidents must possess a nonresident saltwater fishing license.
There are some good shoreline opportunities at Yankeetown (at the end of SR40 next to the boat ramp), Cedar Key (near the airport), Suwannee (alongside the highway into Salt Creek), Horseshoe Beach (at the end of the highway) and in Taylor County (at Hagens Cove, between Steinhatchee and Keaton Beach)..
