Four Springs Loop
Location: High Springs, FL, United States
This is a 32 mile loop route starting in High Springs, FL, where riders can find parking downtown. The route visits Poe, Blue, Ginnie and Rum Island Spring parks along the Santa Fe River.The route heads west towards Poe Springs County Park (no entry fee), which has a rest stop, picnic area and playground, as well as views of the spring and river.
A few miles down the river riders reach Blue Springs Park (entry fee). The park at Blue Spring has camping, restrooms, a picnic area and a boardwalk along the spring run. (Note: the access road to Blue Springs Park is unpaved and may be muddy or soft.)
The route then stops at Ginnie Springs (entry fee), which is one of the clearest springs in Florida and is actually made up of seven natural springs. This park also features a picnic area, grills, a gift store, and restrooms, among other amenities.
The route crosses to the other side of the river to visit Rum Island Springs (free), a County Park with walkways and boardwalks to overlook the spring, and a unique island nearby in the middle of the Santa Fe river. The route crosses back over the river to return to the town of High Springs.
