Starke - Lake Butler Loop

This is a 61-mile loop route from Starke, FL to Lake Butler, FL and back that passes through the towns of Brooker and Hampton. It begins in downtown Starke, where parking is available to riders, as well as a few restaurants and convenience stores. The route heads west on State Road 100, and includes a side trip to the boat canal connecting Lake Sampson and Lake Rowell, where riders can view a pristine cypress-lined shoreline.A few miles of the route travel up the Palatka-Lake Butler State Trail, which terminates in the city of Lake Butler. Once in Lake Butler, riders can explore the small town, visit the lake just north of the trail, or stop to grab a snack at one of the local convenience stores.
From Lake Butler, the route heads south on Union County Road 231. It then reaches Brooker where riders turn to head east on Bradford County Road 18. The route passes by Hampton Lake and the town of Hampton, before heading north to return to Starke.
There are marked bike lanes on SR100. Interesting local establishments in downtown Starke include the Downtown Grill, the Call Street Cafe, as well as Tony & Al's Deli. Starke also has a large number of fast food restaurants along U.S. 301.
