A specific route really isn't necessary to enjoy Cedar Key. Here, one can comfortably ride anywhere they like. The route passes by several scenic viewpoints, like Piney Point and the Levy County Fishing Pier.
This is a nice route for someone who would like to see the sights of the Key, and even make a few stops in town. The Route also extends to a canoe launch on the island, as well as the Cedar Key Museum State Park. At the museum/park, the Saint Clair Whitman house is a historic point of interest. It was built in the 1800s and recently restored to depict life in Cedar Key in the early 1900s. The state park also offers a short nature trail where visitors have the opportunity to experience a variety of wildlife
The small town of Cedar Key is home to several local restaurants and shops, if you would like to shop or stop for a bite to eat along this ride. Tony's Seafood and Annie's Cafe are two popular choices for food. The local shop, Cedar Key Canvas, sells handmade bags and purses. Cedar Keyhole is a gallery that showcases art of local artists. Cedar Key Emporium offers beachside jewelry and gifts.
